이 교과목은 고전문학 작품 중 각 시대별 대표작들을 엄선하여 실제로 읽고 그 당대적 의미를 구명하는 데 목적을 둔다. 작품의 원전, 또는 번역본을 읽고 당대인들의 삶과 문학의 관계, 당대 문화의 한 영역으로서의 문학이 가지는 의미를 파악해 본다. 가능한 한 많은 작품을 접하고 서로 토론해 봄으로써 학부생들의 고전문학에 대한 친밀감을 높여주고 고전문학 작품을 스스로 읽고 해독할 수 있는 능력을 길러주며, 나아가 고전문학의 당대적 의미를 토대로 그 현대적 의미를 파악할 수 있는 안목을 가지는 단계까지 나아가게 한다.
교과목해설(영문)
This subject aims to read some of the representative works of classical literature from each period and recall its meanings. Let students read the original or translated version of the work, and understand the relationship between the lives and literature of the contemporary people and the meaning of literature as a part of contemporary culture. By reading and debating as many works as possible, it enhances the undergraduate students ' familiarity with classical literature and enhances their ability to read and decode them on their own. Furthermore, it pushes one to have an insight into the modern meaning of the book based on the contemporary meaning of classical literature.
