인간을 이해하는 방안의 하나로 인간만이 가지고 있는 언어의 본질과 특성에 대해 다룬다. 언어학의 개념과 특징, 연구 범위와 연구 방법 등을 비롯해 언어학의 하위 영역인 음운론, 형태론, 통사론, 의미론, 화용론, 세계의 언어와 문자, 방언론, 응용언어학 등을 살펴봄으로써 언어의 본질을 이해하고, 언어학이 응용될 수 있는 분야에 대한 지식을 넓힐 수 있도록 한다.
교과목해설(영문)
This course discusses about nature and characteristics of language that only humans possess as one of the ways to understand humans. By looking through concepts and features of linguistics, research scope and methods as well as sub-sections of linguistics such as phonology, morphology, syntax, semantics, pragmatics, languages and letters in the world, dialects, and applied linguistics, the course aims to have students understand the essence of language and expand their knowledge in fields in which linguistics can be applied.
