직조 디자인에 관계된 직물구조, 실의 선택 및 색의 효과 등에 관하여 실습한다. 직기에 의해 구조되는 다양한 직물 구조 방법을 익히고 이를 바탕으로 직물디자인 개발에 관한 직물설계 및 표현 효과 등에 대해 컴퓨터를 사용한 디자인과 수직 과정을 병행하면서 단계적으로 학습한다.
교과목해설(영문)
This course focuses on the effects and interactions between yarn, color, texture and structure play in woven design, as they relate to a range of end use applications. Students will develop fabric appropriate for their particular area of interest. Using CAD (weave design software-weavepoint) and hand loom, students will create and weave a variety of samples and prototype cloth. The emphasis is on invention and developing a personal approach.
